Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, or IPBC, is a well-studied and safe preservative used widely in cosmetics. Every individual preservative has its own strengths and weaknesses; IPBC is particularly strong against mold and fungus, which makes it a great pair to preservatives that are stronger against bacteria.
